A lawsuit or trial activity "suit in law" is a municipal activity brought in a trial of law in which a complaintant, a celebration who statements to have received loss as a result of a defendant's actions, requirements a lawful or fair remedy. The accused is required to react to the complaintant's issue. If the complaintant is successful, verdict will be given in the complaintant's favor, and a variety of trial purchases may be released to use a right, prize loss, or encourage a short-term or lasting injunction to avoid an act or persuade an act. A declaratory verdict may be released to avoid future lawful arguments. Although not as common, trial activity may also refer to a lawful activity, lawful continuing, or lawful claim.

A lawsuit may include argument quality of personal law issues between individuals, companies or non-profit companies. A trial activity may also enable thestate to be treated as if it were a personal celebration in a municipal case, as complaintant or accused regarding an injury, or may provide the state with a municipal cause of activity to use certain regulations.
The conduct of a trial activity is known as lawsuit. One who will litigate rather than seek non-judicial remedies is known as litigious. The victims and offenders are known as injured parties and the legal professionals comprising them are known as litigators.
